For this project, our client wanted to add an ADU (accessory dwelling unit) attached to the house, taking the place of the existing barn to add space for another family member joining the residence. We went through the design of this project with the client, constructing a two-story attached apartment - expanding the living space of the main home by connecting the second floor. The first floor features radiant heat in the slab and heat pumps for air conditioning, its own kitchen, and bathroom with laundry. This space was made to fit Mom's taste - a wilderness and camp feel - and is now called "the Bear's Den!
